They're precautions, but they aren't very essential to getting things ready. It would probably be a good idea to get the heat turned on, just so that nothing freezes in the cold weather that should stay unfrozen. As far as security goes. I think it's extremely important to get security put in. If you aren't going to be there very often, you're going to want to be as safe as possible. The last thing you would want is to have the place broken into while you can't do anything about it. Getting a camera, if nothing else, will be a huge thing that you should definitely do.

Hi Anita, HOA fees vary by community. They range anywhere from $150.00 to over $3000.00. The fees include garbage pick up, recycling, security, pay life guards in the summer months, pool and lake use and maintainence, community activities, club house. What they cover varies on the community. Some communities with lower dues do not cover your trash pick up, for this you would be billed directly by the trash company. Other communities with higher dues have more activities and amenities for use by their members. The best way to determine what works for you is to tour some of our local communities as well as visit their websites. Sierra View, Indian Mountain Lake, Stone Crest, Emerald Lake, Arrowhead Lake, Camelot Forest, Locust Lake Village, Wagner Forest, Stillwater Lake, Pocono Country Place, Pocono Farms, Brier Crest Woods, Birch Brier Estates are a few in our immediate area. i live in brier crest woods its a very nice and a safe place to live, i am selling my house as i would like to be closer to my daughter, in the years that i have owned this house i have never heard of and crime going on here, security is very good here they are always driving around i have had no problems in the time that i have lived here, if my daughter lived closer i would not be moving from here. they keep everything very clean including the lake and park for the kids, my grandsons love it when they come here. i hope this has been helpful to you. ... more
