Was your deed or title recorded properly with the county? When a home sale is recorded with the county, the new owner's name will appear on the tax bill. Verify with the county tax assessor's office whose name is recorded and what information they have. You need to get this corrected. The short answer is "Probably Not" since your name was not on the mortgage. However, it could come back for other items to affect you. I would contact an attorney - your divorce attorney would be the best bet.

Amazing how our culture has become so automobile dependent and lazy. 1-2 mile walk was the norm back then. Almost seemed a waste to drive that close. You got your answers but I see your neighborhood in reference is "Big Canoe" situated in the foothills of the N. Georgia Mountains. I would give this neighborhood a ZERO for walkability. It's a 10 minute drive just to get to the entrance of the community from the middle and the hills are brutal for walkers and bikers. Get you a 4 wheel drive as well because getting out of your driveway in the winters can a feat. ... more

The lot market in Big Canoe is very unique. There are currently 166 lots on the market and according to FMLS as of 2/9/10, 15 sold in the past 12 months. There are others that have sold either through the developer, not in FMLS or by owner - this information isn't as easy to access as FMLS. Of the properties that sold they all offer something very unique - incredible price point, views, or multi-acre (at a great price point). To asnwer your question on multi-acre lots being in high demand - I would say only if it is priced aggressively or offers a one of a kind setting that no other lot offers in Big Canoe. There are opportunities in Big Canoe to purchase .70 acres, however you are completely surrounded by greenspace. It is a buyer's market if you are searching for a homesite in Big Canoe.
