As you have already been told by other brokers, Sammamish is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. there are other communities that are just as wonderful, but will be less expensive areas to purchase a home in. For example, I live in Kenmore, just north of Lake Washington. Kenmore was chosen by Family Circle magazine as one of the 10 best cities in the U.S. to raise a family. In fact, that is why I live here. Feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss the differences between different areas that are worth considering.

Good luck to you in any case,
Jirius Isaac

The schools are good in Bellevue, but houses prices are high. If that is a concern, you can move north to Bothell or Woodinville or Kenmore where the schools are just as good & home prices are lower.

Good luck to you in any case,

The overlook at lakemont is in that area, I lived there for a year and they have a pool for the kids. Let me know if I can be of further help or if I can help you find a rental home in that area. I taught in the Issaquah School District for five years; that is a great school. Regards, Ken Kolbe

Kevin,

In addition to reviewing "rating" sites such as greatschools.net and the Seattle Times school guide > http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/schoolguide/ , you might be interested in the state's school report card on the OSPI site > http://reportcard.ospi.k12.wa.us/summary.aspx?year=2007-08. You can drill down from the state level to school district to school specific data as collected and reported by the state. Here are the specific school pages:
Bennett Elementary > http://reportcard.ospi.k12.wa.us/summary.aspx?groupLevel=District&schoolId=1369&reportLevel=School&orgLinkId=1369&yrs=&year=2007-08
Tillicum Middle > http://reportcard.ospi.k12.wa.us/summary.aspx?groupLevel=District&schoolId=1356&reportLevel=School&orgLinkId=1356&yrs=&year=2007-08
Interlake High > http://reportcard.ospi.k12.wa.us/summary.aspx?groupLevel=District&schoolId=1364&reportLevel=School&orgLinkId=1364&yrs=&year=2007-08

You might also want to know that Bennett is the site of one of the elementary school enrichment programs while the gifted high school program is hosted at Interlake. The elementary and middle school equivalents (PRISM) are hosted at Stevenson Elementary and Odle Middle schools. The Bellevue School District's website is at http://www.bsd405.org/ and these programs are described at http://www.bsd405.org/Default.aspx?tabid=335

I am not familiar with the school but seems as though you are almost answering your own question. The inability to retain a principal appears to be one of several challenges for the school. I think the best way to find real answers to your question is to talk to the parents and educators that are most involved in running the school.

Go to the PTSA roster and start calling people about your concerns and questions and see how they respond. You may not always get a frank, honest answer, but by speaking to several people you will begin to get a clear picture of the school and how and why it is run the way it is.

I will ask the school on what site they use to show the student's progress.

Due to privacy issue, this is not something the school will allow the public to know and you will probably have to get special user ID and password (permission) from the school before you can access student datat.

Best,

Hello Dany and welcome to Bellevue.
I dont know the actual cost of the school, but my sister graduated from that school about 10 years ago. She is still friends with kids from her class! Also, I know that they did comps based on your income. I would suggest giving them a call to see what is their pay scale! Good luck!!! ... more
