The issue we have with short term rental in Florida is that anything under 6 months is considered the same as a hotel stay and attracts tourist tax. That's why short term rental outside the true tourist areas is so hard to find. If you can commit to a minimum 7 months then you'll have a lot more choice. ... more

If you are on section 8 then the Orlando Housing Authority may have a list of properties that are approved for section 8. I would look in Orlando classifieds ads for rental properties that accept section 8. You also may want to contact a Realtor who specializes in rental properties for both the landlord and renters. It is common that property owners who do rent to section 8 renters do not typically retain or hire a Realtor they normally just list online on Craig's List or in the local news paper.
