I would not be concerned about it because the siblings who are the legal sellers can still sell the home with all of her stuff inside. What will happen is the will sell for less money than if it was staged nicely. In this case, the siblings can talk to their brother and educate him that because his wife is using the house as a storage place, he will need to agree to a lower sales price or force his wife to remove all the stuff. If your brother and his wife are desperate to collect a higher inheritance from the sale of the home, I guarantee the sister in law will remove the stuff. Typically, money talks. Show your brother the difference. Have the realtor provide recent sales of homes that sold for a higher price because that Home was staged nicely vs. recently sold homes that were cluttered or sold for a lower price than necessary. Once your brother sees the price difference and how much inheritance money he and your sister in law will lose, your sister in law will remove the stuff.
