Hello Sus, if you figure out what cities/zip codes you are considering, minimum number of bedrooms and the maximum payment you are looking to achieve you can be emailed listings to fit your search criteria.

The rentals in Barstow start from $295 for 1bd 1ba apartment and up. You should even study RENT vs BUY options as you may qualify to buy with minimum out of pocket expenses and pay less than rent in many cities. The purchase start from 45k for 4bd 2ba single family home ready to move into in Barstow. I am also a fellow Veteran and love assisting Veterans...

You may qualify VA or CalVet zero down loan program or else to buy FHA with fico scores between 500-579 with 10% down or minimum 580 fico score may qualify FHA 3.5% down or as low as .5% half percent down payment program. You may consider 3% down conventional from a minimum 620 fico score. Your fico scores can be raised within 3-4 days in most cases to qualify for programs, rates and terms as necessary.

It only takes a few dozen questions to qualify, go over your options and email you listings to study and compare. Here are some links to study as well as web reference links to many loan program pages offered...

I know that the public transit is decent in that area, but could be improved. I'm sure that there are a few taxi services in the area as well. I don't think there are too many major cities that don't have transportation services anymore!

You should talk to a real estate attorney. I am sure neither of these parties will willingly pay for the damages so you will need a little legal muscle. Email me if you have any further questions.

I hate to be direct, but either catch up the payments, refinance it, or sell the property. If the property is upside-down, you can short sell it even though its a commercial property.

We are seasoned short sale and commercial agents, so if you'd like to utilize our services visit either one of our real estate websites below:

There, unfortunately, are no work/loft areas in downtown Barstow - I believe it has a lot to do with zoning. If you are working at Ft. Irwin, the best place to look for rentals is the North side of town. The commute from there is good to Ft. Irwin, and especially in the Skyline North area, because Skyline North elementary school is reputed to be a very good school. I remember seeing a house for rent in Skyline North on Torres (?) through Premier Realty (Travis Sanders, 760-951-500-7745), but I cannot be sure it's still for rent. There is a rental mangement company called Alliance Management Group at 240 E. Williams that has a lot of properties that they manage and it may be worth a call to them (760-256-4663) to get help in finding a place. The rental manager there, Gaby, knows the neighborhoods and will help you out, ... more

John Arendsen answered:
First of all if it's a 1984 "MANUFACTURED HOME", it's not a "MOBILE HOME". They quit making "TRAILERS" in June of 1976. Yes, you may move your "MANUFACTURED HOME" onto your parents 5 acre parcel if it is code compliant. To determine that you will have to check with your local building department.

There shouldn't be a problem unless there are pre existing CC&R's that prohibit MH's. That stated. Should you ever attempt to apply for an FHA guaranteed forward or reverse mortgage you'll be out of luck inasmuch as FHA will not fund a home that's been moved from its original situs. Hope this helps.
