There are several listing with in 20 miles of Bangor. The following towns all have acreage between 10-20 acres for sale. The mill rate in Hermon is 11.70 per 1000.00 of assessed value. i.e. your property is valued at $10,000.00 your tax would be $117.00

Hermon - mill rate is 11.70
Bradley - mill rate is 13.50
Orrington - mill rate is 13.45
Levant - mill rate is 12.50

Yes - Elaine - all mobile home parks have rental fees. When you live or place a mobile home in a park- you are "leasing" the lot the mobile home is sited on. Depending on where you are- some of the parks are hooked to public water & sewer. Some parks include the use of public water/sewer in their monthly fees- some do not (and you are either billed extra for your useage & bill directly by the utility company if the mobile home lot has its own meters. Lot "rents" range anywhere from $125/ month to $300/month. This is all on top of any mortgage payments on the mobile home itself. And you still have to maintain your lawn & driveway yourself- either hire someone to mow & plow or you can do it yourself. Most offer trash removel. Living in a park is not necessarily "maintenance free".
Depending on what your budget is for purchasing a home- you might want to consider a condo. The monthly fees average $150- this includes exterior maintenance of the building, mowing & plowing/shoveling. Condo prices vary depending on where you are in the state- and they cost quite a bit more than a mobile home.
