Visit a neighborhood several times and at different times of day to get a sense of belonging; possibly chat with neighbors/locals. Check out area statistics on your own; real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods; so, you should check out demographics on your own to assure your comfort level can be reached. ... more

My wife had surgery early Monday AM, and I have been tied up since then. The best answer to your question in your head and heart! However do-diligence requires you to look at the schools, crime stats, and a personal visit in the neighborhood to talk to neighbors. If the Schools are the best for your kids or future kids, and the crime stats are within your level of acceptance, then and only then spend some time talking to neighbors for the final answers to make a good decision. Real Estate agents, cannot by law direct you to or from one neighborhood or another, even if they wanted to. ... more
