I lived in Pepperidge as early as 3 yrs. ago if you do your research you will find out that the area has had it's share of crimes but to be fair, I think because it is one of Augusta's largest subdivisions this makes it appear to be more problematic than smaller subdivisions. My experience living there is a mixed one, the homes are mainly well-kept, there are a fair share of renters but still a large sum of homeowners. The down side of the area is because the large amount of homes, there are lots of teens and young children in the area so it can get noisy at times......I moved because of this issue. however; this is my personal experience I'm sure others living in the area are not bothered by the noise. ... more

I lived near Madrid drive in Barton village as a teen in the 80's back then it was an ok place to live however; through out the years with the properties becoming rentals and less home owners the neighborhood has become one of Augusta's less desirable areas. I can't speak for other cities but usually(not always) if the homes are priced very low, especially for the size of the home it can be because homes are very difficult to sell or rent in that area....

also with Augusta, being a military town, a good guide is to check out the area to see if there are military families living in the area, the military has A list of areas , and establishments which are listed as "OFF LIMITS" for military personnel ...this could be businesses, apartments or housing areas this is done to protect the troops from danger, i.e. bad or illegals businesses, or high crime areas. with this being said, as always there can be a home or street in any neighborhood which can be quiet and safe...if possible get out and visit the area during different times of the day and night, especially on weekends to see what the area is really like

Hello Rosalind, hope all is well.
That is a tall order, we will need to talk about specifics so I can narrow down the info for you. Raleigh, and the surrounding areas are quite diverse. Where you will be working, and the commute time that is acceptable to you will factor in very heavily. Colleges, well NC State is on the west side of Raleigh, UNC in is Chapel Hill, Duke is in Durham, so the west side of Wake County is going to be your target. But you also have Meredith, a private girls College, and there is Peace College as well, and a number of other smaller but good schools to look at.

What do you do for a living, estimated yearly income, comfort range as far as a monthly payment, these are all the things that we need to talk about. Give me a call and lets chat about how we can make this work for you. 919-656-5740

Hi and WELCOME to Augusta : ) Sorry but your question is very subjective. Everyone has a different opinion of what "good" might be. Your best advice is to contact the local law enforcement office and see what they have to say about a particular area. They know better than anyone what goes on in local neighborhoods.
Again we at Meybohm Realtors are glad you are here.

LOL, Columbia county is better and no it's not even close. Realtors can not legally give you an answer on this so that is why you are getting the fluff about take a look yourself.... Call the local Columbia County Police department and ask them what they think about Richmond County, lol. They can back it up with actual numbers. Best of Luck. ... more

I know that you have had an agent in Augusta respond already, but I'd like to suggest an agent in Augusta that is with Keller Williams. Her name Stacie Wells. You can reach her at 706-373-4663. I always advise people, even buyers, to interview a couple agents. Make sure that the one you're getting fits not only your personality, but your specific needs. Please tell her I sent you along...and that I said "hi".
