Solomon Greene answered:

Lilburn is likely closer to the CDC than Duluth or Marietta. That area also provides easy access to multiple commute options into the city. Read more about Lilburn at the link below. You'll find links to the areas around the schools further down the page. The same page for Duluth is under the tab, Metro Atlanta MLS Listings," where you'll also find the schools that serve Gwinnett County. But please be mindful that the schools are undergoing redistricting, so the you'll want to work closely with someone who is familiar with the most recent plan.

The great thing about Trulia, if you scroll down on the property page you are interested in, there is a section called "local". In that section it gives you information about local transit, schools, crime, amenities, etc. Check it out! A great resource. ... more

To be honest, anywhere in the Atlanta area is producing high levels of traffic at most times of the day. Like others said, just going from one end of a satellite city, (i.e. Marietta, Acworth, Woodstock, Roswell, etc.) to the other can take upwards of 30 mins sometimes. Your best bet is to accept the fact that you will be commuting since you both work in different cities. If I had to pick I would go with the north eastern part of Marietta as to me that is the closest equal distance travel times. That said, you will be in a higher price point to live there these days. ... more

This is 18 miles door to door to the Woodward Academy, in downtown College Park. College Park is almost 10 square miles, so as Robert stated, it depends on where exactly in the city your destination is.

I-285 is a loop, 55 miles in circumference, known as the Perimeter. There are many, many neighborhoods inside the perimeter (ITP) that are not impacted at all. If your employer or places you frequent are located OTP, you will have no problem finding a place to live that does not require getting on I-285.
