Johns Creek, GA - Shakerag Elementary, RiverTrail Middle and Northview High School are 3 great schools in this area - my suggestion would be to look for a home where your kids will go to these Schools. I believe that the mortgage/rental is within what you are looking for. BUT, the commute will be more than 30 minutes - a drive to North Springs MARTA station and a train to the Airport. Contact the school you are interested in. Some districts allow you to switch schools subject to capacity and your willingness to drive them there.

Many police departments now have information about crime available on their website. However there is no substitute for driving around a neighborhood you are interested in and talking to your potential neighbors.

Dear Kim,
Dave Herren gives good advice as usual!
In addition, the mandates for educating special needs students are state-wide. PLEASE VERIFY THIS --- however, if the school where you live cannot provide for your child, then the system and/or the state must do so.
Check with the GA Dept. of Human Services at their website:.http://dhs.georgia.gov/portal/site/DHS/ formore information.
Have a happy day -

Hello
As mentioned below some of the areas in 30331 are very nice areas, like Niskey Lake community and others. Regarding as to how safe it is to raise your family, I have friends and clients who live in the area and I have not heard anything bad except that you do get some crimes like car theft or break-ins, but these days even the best of areas expereince some kind of petty crimes, I would suggest that you contact the police and check out the area regarding crimes. Regarding the schools, you will need to investigate since not all of the schools in the area are good! Good Luck and if you need assistance please contact me I will be happy to represent you in the purchase of your home. I have been selling in the area for over 20 years. ... more
