Hello Chenelle, there is no such thing unless you are talking about the Section 8 rental voucher program? You should study RENT vs BUY listings to compare payments. You may qualify to buy and pay less than rent in Atlanta.

Rentals usually want first, last and security deposit to secure any rentals. The rentals in Atlanta start from $580 for 1bd 1ba condo and the single family homes start from $690 for 1bd 1ba home. The financeable purchase in Atlanta start from 50k for 4bd 2ba condo and the single family homes start from 50k for 2bd 1ba home.

The bigger issue is did you do a background and credit check on this renter BEFORE you gave him the keys? With technology, there are several companies that do a thorough background and credit check for landlords (including private ones), property managers, etc. There is a fee BUT if you paid the fee, you would not be in this situation now. If you want to be a landlord, you need to protect yourself. That means paying for a background and credit check and having an attorney represent you. ... more
