Apparently you don't. Trulia just leaves it up for people to waste theirs and your time calling and emailing you for eternity on a house you rented three months ago and have made multiple requests to take down from all the other $hitty parent sites related to Trulia in all its $hittiness.
I would recommend areas close to 5 Points, Downtown and UGA. I own a 2BR, 2.5BA Townhouse Condominium in that exact area for rent at $825/MO at 550 Dearing Street #29 in the Dearing Courtyard Condominium Complex. It will be available for rent on 8/1/2014. the units in that building are all individually owned, so there's no one property manager that handles all of them. Additionally, there are only a limited number of rental permits issued to the owners, so not all units can be rented. Athens is full of crime. Take a look at the crime map. And guess what is worse -- realtors in Athens always lie about crime. They say their properties are nice and safe, but just focus on the numbers...anything under $1,200 and you're probability of being robbed is 1 out of 4. Watch out...... more
the best rental rates are often available in Winter months. In Athens, most leases (especially student-oriented properties) are on an August-to-July term based on the UGA semester schedule. If landlords have vacancies outside of that desired lease term, they are often much more flexible on terms/rates.... more
