The process is pretty simple. The best thing about it is you as the renter do not have to pay an agent to assist you as long as the rental property that you are looking at is listed in the multiple list and co-oping with a brokerage. Most residential listings do require an application fee ranging from $35 an adult to as much as $75 per adult. The applications will basically be checking credit history, an eviction search, job verification and a sex offenders search.

Other than that it is kind of like working with an agent to find you a home to buy. The difference is however that when you find the home that you like you will submit an application, pay the application fee and wait to see if the owner approves you as a tenant and then the lease is prepared.
