Mama...
I had clients in Albany a couple years back that occupied both units of a 2 family...they mainly used the back staircase to go between unit whick made it feel like a 2 story home...When we put it up for sale we marketed it as both a single family and a 2 family which got much more interest...This may work for you as well as you never know how your plans may chnage down the road. If you need any further assistance with this property or any others, do not hesitate to give me a call.

If you have an address I would be happy to look it up through the various databases and foreclosure listings I have. Realty trac might be a good starting point as well.
