I have no clue why this question popped up from 2012 but Watermelon Road is one of the safest areas in Tuscaloosa, is in an excellent school zone and possibly irrelevant as a crime that happened 30 years ago, less than two miles from Nick Saban's home. ... more

I know your question is from several months back but I'm just seeing it. Homewood is a very nice community and we have lived there for 18 years. We moved from Pelham just because we want to raise our kids in Homewood. The neighborhoods are great and the schools are perfect for us. It's a very sought after real estate market and school system. As far as safe, it's as safe as you make it. You have to be active in the community and keep an eye out for neighbors regardless. All of the elementary schools are top performing academically. Our High School Band starts training kids in the 6th grade and has been invited to perform in the Macy's parade and Rose Bowl multiple times. There's a niche for everyone in Homewood even if you don't have kids! I hope this helps! ... more

I would suggest contacting your local police department. They should have this information for you. Realtors don't have access to this information.

There may be a number of streets named Pine Street so you probably need to provide more complete information for us point you in the right direction. In any case, real estate agents are not allowed to answer those types of questions as they violate Fair Housing rules and guidelines. Your best bet is to contact the police precinct in that area.
