That's what happens when a listing agent doesn't know the area.

That one is more of a documentary than a short work of fiction

I was just reminded that "The Stepfather" was a real estate agent and the title character is loosely based on the life of a mass murderer named John List. How appropriate.

Paying neighbors to act nice during a sale isn't all that bad an idea, though in the long run there may be disclosure issues. At least they kept the place in the end.

American Beauty for it's dark, satirical perspective. Who hasn't prepped for an Open House repeating "I will sell this house today."

True! And what town doesn't have at least one agent who calls himself The King?

I loved Funny Farm -

I recently showed a house while deer were strolling in the backyard, and thought of the line from that movie when Chevy Chase was trying to sell his "bucolic/charming home in the country" that he had come to HATE (to city people who were enamored with the idea of being in the "country) so he tried "staging" it (see, he was ahead of his time)... with deer.....................the line in the movie was was.....
"cue the deer"...............and out they came running!

Oh, I understand - they eat stuff here, too! A few years back, one spring I decided to try my hand at planting flowers (usually had a landscaper do it) - never did it before - spent 2 hours planting a huge bunch of pretty marigolds - woke up the next morning to look outside and admire my flowers - EVERY one of them had been chewed down to 2 inch stems! I almost cried! Hate those deer! ha

In my area we have deer fence all around - they eat all the flowers and anything else that grows and looks pretty.

My favorite lines... "I'm shallow and self-centered, you're 'complex'" and "two weeks!"

I-WILL-SELL-THIS-HOUSE-TODAY! I think American Beauty was way too dark, but I still prep my open houses with the mantra....

When I worked for Rupert Taylor Real Estate in Burlingame the Office really mirrored the set of "Glengarry Glen Ross". Watching a film or TV show about Real Estate is not my cup of tea. Just don't want to watch
