iPad and e-signature

Asked by Mountain Rain, 95014 Wed Aug 18, 2010

How many realtors are using iPad to electronically sign the paperwork now? Just curious whether it's worthwhile to invest in an iPad for that purpose.

I'd recommend a digital signature software to use for signing all contracts online. I personally use http://www.skysignature.com because they are free. But there are many other solutions available.

Hi Mountain Rain,
Not only is it convenient, you also have to realize our business is partly image based. You whip out an iPad, you impress your potential clients. It's a good investment. Good luck in your real estate career.

We've been using DocuSign for years now - couldn't do our jobs without it. Doesn’t matter what platform you use – works on everything that has Internet access – even works on my iPhone – I know of agents who’ve signed docs on their phone while driving on I-880 … (names hidden to protect the not-so-innocent …)

If you are not using DocuSign … it’s time to join the new millennium … (that’s a gentle way of saying “Get your posterior in gear”).

I also have a USB signature pad (like at the grocery store checkstands) that I use if I need one or two signatures - no Internet access needed - just a USB port in any portable device such as a laptop, iPad, etc..

I think that if you try docusign you will find out that is all you need. We started using it a couple of years ago and it is a real time saver. It works with any document.

Personally, I'd rather invest in docusign then a new iPad. :)

I am looking forward to seeing the responses here as well. Allyson, how much are they at Costco? I see that Yvonne has signed up for Docusign, I was reading about that a few days ago, looks wonderful.....type up the contract right on-site and have the client sign. No more driving back to the office, type up, print out, meet back w/the client for signatures. I want an iPad and Docusign !

I have been thinking of getting one myself as you can get them pretty cheap at Costco.
if you haven't already check out there prices.
I'm also curious as to how many are using them.

Allyson

That will be my next step to look into that..

Hope you get some responses to this.
