agent to agent enquiry-What referral fees are you paying to get your corporate referrals? When I started 10?

Asked by Kenneth Verbeyst, PRINCETON, NJ Mon May 12, 2008

years ago 25% was the norm and now it seems as if they are all coming in at 40% (ouch)
Where is all the money going? It seems Sirva is having problems. Thoughts?

40% is what Coldwell Banker charges too. It's 25% to the agent and 15% to the corporate relo department.
The money goes to pay the relo people that sit and answer questions. I'm sure that CB and Pridential both bought relo firms and see the transaction as partly theirs.
Some agents do allot of relo business, some turn it away because they don't like the constraints. I wouldn't be suprised if the corps don't bump it up to 50% now that the transaction count is down.

Geez, 40%, I'll remember that next time I make a referral! Here at Smith Mountain Lake Va. 25% is the norm and I think that is fair. Good luck....Edna Jamieson, Realtor, ABR.
