I've always used Lumbleau.com...

Fast easy 45 hour CE credit all done online. Course is only $49 too!

They take calls 7 days a week 9am-6pm, and have technical support days a week 5am-7pm PST for CE problems.

I used First Tuesday once and never will again. They will never get another dime out of me.

I had a terrible experience also. Website is horrid. I got a refund and went to Lumbleau Real Estate School. Best support you could ask for. They even have a real person answering the phone!

I boycotted First Tuesday 2 renewals ago because some of their information was downright wrong and when I called, their attitude was that the way we Realtors do things is wrong. I then had to specifically memorize their material in order to answer their questions in a way just to pass. I've been going through the renewal program available on the CAR website. It's entirely online and reasonably priced.

Given that First Tuesday has declared war on the California Association of REALTORS over how they provide standard forms, I'm boycotting FT until they grow up and obtain a fundamental grasp of business principles.

One aspect of holding a "fundamental grasp of business principles" is to recognize a conflict of interest when you see it. CAR is a "trade association", which is supposed to represent the interests of its members. CAR owns WinZip, a Michigan corporation which is a for profit corporation. The CEO of CAR is also the CEO of WinZip, and CAR holds its members captive in the use of this software, locking out all other software bundlers from offering potentially higher functioning form libraries.
It then labels the WinZip software as "free' on its website when they are charging around $1,000 for an initial membership fee PLUS an outragous annual renewal fee of the roughly the same amount every year. Think that is a conflict of interest?

I like that you said it less gently than I did. Thanks John.

I really like Duane Gomer. They're super nice and will email the study materials to you, which was the method of delivery I chose. You can take practice tests as well as final tests online. Then you go to the DRE, now BRE website, input the information required to prove who you are and that you passed your tests, pay your fee and it's done. Your license status is updated nearly immediately.

I used First Tuesday once and they were fine and I think they were one of the lower cost providers. They started sending their newsletter, blog or whatever to me. I read a few articles and based on just those few, it appeared that their views were very different from mine. That doesn't make them a bad supplier of continuing education materials by any stretch, but it did make me decide I wouldn't give them my business any longer. Just a personal choice.
