What is the best way that you attract clients using direct Mail? Postcards, Sales Letters?

Asked by Chelsea, Ellicott City, MD Tue Nov 11, 2008

I am a high school student and I'm interviewing businesses. I want to know what the best way you attract clients by using direct mail? Do you send postcards, or sales letters? Thank you!

i use postcards, but you have to be CONSISTENT!! (ever 6 weeks).

I NEVER order without checking this Realtor coupon site.

A lot of great coupons for postcards and other print marketing here:http://realestate.reviewsanddeals.com/

I send magnetic sticky notes with my business card attached, along with a letter. The letter usually has info on the current market and interest rates.

I've had good luck with a color postcard inviting the neighbors to an open house. They come in with card in hand. Some turn out to be potential clients. At least I make the initial contact that can turn into a relationship which may mean future business.

In the hotter market last year, I had a letter than I printed on letterhead and sent first class. Got lots of responses that turned into business with that. But it was the message that worked in that market. I haven't sent it lately because it would work now.

So, in response to the question, I believe it's the message you send, rather than the format it goes out in.

Thanks for asking,

Hand written letters and a phone call. Best way.. post cards and direct mail are a waste and so are sales letters! If you do any of those you must follow up with a phone call, just call them! and send out a hand note. Best way!

Good Luck

Giving away something FREE may work. It can be expensive you will need 6 months of continual ad campaign to see any results per marketing stat's. Good luck

Chelsea...Sales letters can get expensive...and just one mailing will not work. I just got back from an the GKIC Info Summit where they recommended a survey mailer with an incentive.

Something I like to do is to not only send them information for soliciting, but to send them information that they can use. Or, maybe something that they would like to keep on their fridge door.
