Thumbs down sprites are appearing!

Asked by Alan May, Evanston, IL Sat Mar 29, 2008

Recently, every answer I've posted immediately gets a thumbs down. Is it just me they're after, or are others experiencing this too?

I'm just wondering if I have my own personal TD stalker, or if someone's taking TD shots at everyone?

i think it's that persistent Barry Manilow fan who just can't take the fact that even though you "left the house"years ago, Barry STILL can't seem to get his copacabana looked at any more!! Either that or all those bitter Neil Diamond wannabes!!

Indeed, I have considered my backyard... but I think it's coming from next door. I'll ask them to quiet down. Thanks for the TU.

anyways

Good Luck

Hi Elv!s, yes, me too. I also noticed there is a particular poster who seems to be trying to get as many thumbs down as he can. Report him without giving him a TD.

I'm familiar with said "REPEAT" offender... I haven't given him any thumbs down... but I'm sure he's given me a few... and surprise of all surprises.. I've already collected TWO thumbs-down for asking the question!!

anyways

Good luck

This weekend it seems passions are running high. I also believe that we all have too much time on our hands and a bit of frustration with the market.
I ran into a spot of trouble with a response I gave to a post about buying a property in the Castro, San Francisco's beautiful neighborhood from out of the country.

Elvis....

I think Ute is correct that fame has it's price. I will admit TD usually appear more on the weekends and I also have been hit in the past at every answer. And, I am not even famous!

Hi Elvis. Fame like yours comes with a price tag. There will always be people who have a chip on their shoulder and the only way they can express it on Trulia Voices is by handing out anonymous TDs. My advice to you. Don't pay attention to them. They'll come and go. They are the bullies of Trulia and they should be treated as such. Keep rocking.

Think I will chime in again for a TD. This individual or individuals has a burr in their bonnet or slacks. Someday maybe they will learn to play nicely in the sanbox. ;)

Yes, I posted on one question yesterday and noticed that all the 1st 4 posts got thumbs down. I read them all, nothing seemed to be bad information or self-promoting. I always try to be as careful as possible in my posts to provide accurate information.

Not sure what caused it...

Hi Elvis. The TU & TDs are part of living in a free society with freedom of speech and expression. Most use those rights responsibly, but there will always be those who are having a rough time knowing how to properly apply those rights and then there are those who don't really stand up for their beliefs and hide behind anonymous TDs. You can rest assured that they do so in all aspects of their lives, not just on Trulia. Have mercy on their poor souls.

Elvis,

As I look at your 2 TD's, and no TU's I find it humorous .. even JR got 2 .l.o.l.. (that's to be expected.)

Anyway, I gave you your only TU for bringing up the topic ...

Did you ever think about looking into your own backyard..?

Elvis, it's not just you. Everything I post gets a Thumbs Down also. But I know why i get them. You see, I'm not a Realtor, agent, broker or any other such person. What I do is get people homes "at cost" and I cut out all unnecessary players. And, in my particular business, agents, Realtors, and brokers are unnecessary. But my clients are usually those with bad credit or those that are "economically challenged", so to speak. But, at the same time, I personally believe that Realtors, agents and brokers provide a great services. But they are not necessary for what I do. This makes me and my understanding a threat to these guys on Trulia. But.... what they need to realize that I am not the reason that things are slowing down for them. I'm not the one that has the market in a slump. I'm just a guy providing my clients with a services that put people in newly constructed homes for under $80k, saves them tens of thousands and they love me. And actually, my business is doing well at the moment.

I don't agree with a lot of the things that I read on Trulia, but I will never give a Thumb Down because where I'm from you don't hate the player, you hate the game.
