Property tax question....

Asked by Eric Engberg, Cedar Park, TX Thu Jun 27, 2013

I have a buyer who is a senior citizen. He is also a disabled vet at 100% disability. Does anyone know, if buying in Williamson County (Round Rock, TX), if he could expect to pay lower property taxes than someone who isn't either of these?

Dear Eric,
the best thing to do is to contact the tax assessor's office in the very county in which the property is located to be advised correctly based on the laws in the same county. Often times their website reveals helpful info on these and similar subjects. Best of luck!

Yes, a disabled vet exemption does provide for a reduction in property taxes...as does the senior exemption.

Thanks Guy! I guess the best way to find out the exact amount of the reduction would be to call Williamson County?
