I was wondering if it is worth signing up for RealtyTrac? What kind of information will I be paying for?

I signed up for the service at the NAR Convention and have gotten several leads from the site. I will be showing property to a prospect this month. I think that people, other than investors, are looking at the site because they are curious about what is going on with foreclosures in their area so if you have your name attached to that area then you will be the one they contact. I feel it is worth the expense. As long as the media is talking about foreclosures then people will be curious and go to sites like RealtyTrac for info. If you want top-of-mind-awareness then you need to be visible on these typs of sites.

I actually really love Realtytrac and have used it off and on multiple times. As a realtor, you would benefit from it if you have a number of investor clients looking for properties that are potentially not on the MLS. In addition, if you yourself are in investor its great.
The basic information is what phase of foreclosure the property is in, if there are any liens on the property (which isn't always listed), who the owner is (you can actually send the owner a postcard directly from the site which is pretty cool).
If you are just a browser, or don't have any investor clients, than I would say save your money. Otherwise, I think it's awesome!

I understand the trial subscription and the fees associated with RealtyTrac. I wanted to see if anyone has an opinion about the service. What type of information the service provides. Will I be provided with an actual contact person for the foreclosed home or just an address? Can anyone help? Thanks.

Leilani, You mentioned using it for the trial period - what did you think? Did you get anything out of RealtyTrac?

Keep in mind that if you use the trial subscription you will automatically be billed on a monthly basis if you don't cancel after the trial period. I did this and was being billed for a few months before I realized it.

Depending what are you going to use it for. . are you an investor?
I use to give myself an extra edge with my competition and provide above the line information to any person that signs up to my Foreclosures list for Maryland DC and Virginia http://www.HERBOSO.com

I don't know...but I'd like to know also. It seems the folks at RealtyTrac are simply listing all of the properties that have a notice of default on them? I'm curious to find out if anyone has subscribed and if it has been beneficial. Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.
