Hi Tina. There are lots of resources for first time home buyers. Some have income limitations and some don't. There are also down payment assistance programs and many local assistance programs. Whether any of these programs benefits people who really have low income is questionable. I guess it depends on the definition of low income. There's also the Nehemiah downpayment program http://(www.getdownpayment.com
) which just made a comeback after a recent ruling that it's not illegal. I think the bottom line is that there are many resources and there isn't any one place where you can get all the information for all the programs that are out there. I would start with your local county and city to find out which programs they have. You may also check with a loan agent who is knowledgeable about first time buyer programs. Basically, you'll compile your own resource collection and network with people in the field.
