I am planning on moving to Wilmington, NC in the fall. Any recommendations on real estate companies to be?

associated with down there? I want the highest possible commission split (right now I'm at 100%, and no one likes a paycut)

Help the community by answering this question:

I work with Exit Realty in Wilmington, the split is 70/30 on the first $100,000 then it is 90/10 and there are no desk fees. There are also residual benefits. I agree that commission splits are important but you also need to be a part of a company that is going to help to grow your business. Exit focuses on the agent, we have a trainer/coach that will help you to lay out a business plan and get to know the Wilmington Market. In my opinion this is the place to be especially coming to a new city, growing your network and sphere is going to be important. Exit has the resources to help you do that. If you want to know more, I would be glad to share my experiences...

I would love you to consider Exit Realty, not only are we the fastest growing real estate company in the history of the industry but at Exit we are "agentcentric", meaning that the agents are the assets of the company and we have a program to help them use leverage to build a true financial future for themselves and their families. This includes additional income streams, retirement and beneficiary benefits. Give me a call if you are interested in learning more about the Exit Formula.

Split percentage huge, but look at other stuff too. I am part owner of Keller Williams here in Wilmington, NC. We have 5 owners and we are all agents.

I went to KW from the leading boutique firm at the time to build a team around a neighborhood website concept. The other firm would not let me do a team. As the market shifted, I wound up becoming an owner too.

The KW concept is once to help you build individually and as a business. Whether you want to work as an individual, on a team, or have your own brand under the KW infrastructure is up to you. I migrated to the latter.

There needs to be some split to pay for the education, compliance, accounting, equipment etc. We have decided to go with a lower rent office that gives us the ability to have low costs that we can share with our agent partners. What that means is that we help you reach 100% quickly as we have an incentive to get you there. Also, we have been profitable every month since opening last April and we profit share our agents.

Most importantly, you should visit a few offices that seem to have a personality profile that fits you rather than forcing a fit with one who you think you would be a good fit for...Changing is not very fun.

If KW was of interest, I would leverage the 3 websites we give you and leverage the "Greener Grass Real Estate" branding and costs that you have already invested. Build a brand with the vision you see is a best fit for the area while leveraging the infrastructure KW offers allowing you to focus on the business of real estate and not the infrastructure of running a business.

Hi Julia,
If you are a large producer, I would be happy to offer you a 100% split. I just opened an office in Wilmington, and I have grown by 100% in the last year! By the way, it's been a tough year for that kind of growth. It's just me at the moment, but my 5 year plan is substantial. Call me if you are interested. Thanks, Ralph 910.262.8820

no I didn't email you. Thanks for the help, I'll definitely consider KW. Do they make you come in for Agent on Duty stuff, or are you pretty free to make your own schedule?

I second Yolanda! The best thing about KW is that the monthly fees are low compared to ReMax etc. The other reasons that I joined is that there is also profit sharing, great training, and information sharing.

Best of luck with your move!

Keller Williams is great., I highly recommend them. 70% til you make GCI, then 100%. Remax is great too and offers 100% options I think.
