Great question. When twitter first came on the scene I was one of the early adopters and quickly created 19 twitter accounts. Each was focused on a different group of people that share their own goals and sense of community that I also participate in. One was for my University- Texas A&M. Graduates are called Aggies and they are a wonderful and loyal group. Its like a huge fraternity @gigem.....another was for my Realtor friends @360mce another was for my team to quickly communicate with each of them a new idea or listing.....
It was the amazing ability to segment each group and then deliver relevant content to each that makes twitter valuable to me and my clients. Twitter now allows you to have groups under a single account, but I still use each of my accounts to speak and listen to each group....independently.
To be able to do this, i use tweetdeck on my ipad. It lets me use all of the accounts simultaneously.
