in Fayetville. My question would be is there a community nearby that is close to activities for those of us who have older college kids . We love the outdoors, night life, parks, swiming, cultural evens. ect. and yet desire a neighborhood community where we can get to know the neighbors. I may be interested in a second home or condo....any advice or opinions would be helpful.

Have you checked out Peachtree City? They have lots of community offerings, most areas are connected with golf cart paths, and it is easy access to Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport.

Although it's not my area, I would suggest you look in the Newnan area. Fayetteville is nice but if you are like me, you want family close but not close enough to invade! Take a look at Newnan. It is a wonderful quaint little town yet, it has wonderful shopping and dining opportunities. Newnan has just come "alive" over the last couple years and new home subdivisions and condos are popping up all over. Now should be a great time to find a great bargin.

Good Luck with your purchase!

There are several areas that you could consider. Fayetteville, Peachtree City, Tyrone, Sharpsburg, Senoia, & Newnan. There are lots of golf courses with swim/tennis (Canongate has 17 clubs that when you join one you belong to all of them). The night life is not what you are use to in the Henderson/Las Vegas area. However, you are only a short drive from downtown Atlanta. You are also close to a lot of activities; pro sports, state and local parks and lakes, & arts & entertainment. There are no buffet's that compare with the Rio's.
If I can help give me a call.

Peachtree City has just about everything you need. I know of several people who have condos in Peachtree City as second homes. They like it because of the close by golf courses and ll the other amenities. You can go everywhere in your golf cart, so you never have to get in your car unless you're leaving the city limits. Peachtree City's only 10minutes from Fayetteville and also has an ampitheater where concerts are held, and you're close enough to Atlanta to enjoy everything it has to offer. Newnan is up & coming, and has more of a small town atmosphere with its historical homes while still havig the amenities. I would also check out Serenbe in South Fulton County. Serenbe is a sort of cross between nature preserve and a neighborhood - http://www.serenbe.com. I think the nearby college where Spivey Hall is located that Edward mentioned is Clayton State College and University, located in Morrow about 20 - 30 minutes from Fayetteville. I prefer Southside Atlanta because there is much less traffic and the pace is just a little slower. But I'm prejudiced, I grew up on the Southside.

It sounds like Tributary is the place for you to go. There is so much to do there that our social calendars are rarely blank. We have parks scattered throughout the neighborhood and new clubs starting up all of the time... a poker club, running club, board game club, wine tasting club, women's club, men's club, kid's club, teen's club, etc...
Call me if you want to know more, I live there.
