I think Zillows market share is a bit bigger but I find them to be a bit of a train wreck, have been for years. Despite that many buyers use the site. I have an issue with inaccuracy and many of these sites are notorious for that. They "scrape" info from various sources that may not be accurate or up to date. I personally get more interest from Trulia and have been active on here since 2007.

Using available resources here's the data. (NOTE: such data is as reliable as a Zillow or Trulia value estimate)

Zillow - Setp, 2013 19 Million
Trulia - Sept 2013, 12 Million
Trulia - Aug 2013, 13 Million

-
Those Zillow TV ads are paying off.

Paul - Not really sure but I get far more clients from Trulia than Zillow and I have advertising dollars with both companies. Trulia has been very good for me personally.

I have answered this question before and the answer still remains, Zillow has not generated a single interesting lead for me, ever. Does it have anything to do with location? Maybe. I get leads from Trulia almost on a daily basis, good and not so good, but at least you know you are alive.

Last time I checked Zillow was ranked slightly higher in site visitors than Trulia but interestingly, I have found my ROI for advertising on Trulia is higher than Zillow.

I've closed more deals from Trulia leads than Zillow leads, so I'll just keep playing around here.

I am not sure I believe Trulia just purchased another vendor so i am pretty sure it is comparable. I obtain more leads from Trulia myself.

Most recent data says that people are staying much longer on Zillow (to get their Zestimates, etc.), but more lead generation is happening on Trulia.

Paul,

Trulia and Zillow are both great real estate page host. I feel that Trulia stand out since they have this particular blog area where much more traffic comes through, pro and customer related.

As for my own observation, I got more leads in Trulia. But they both are great sites!
