Does anyone know what's going on with Verano in Cathedral City??

Asked by Keith Roberts, Palm Springs, CA Mon Nov 30, 2009

It looks like the community pool area is all closed up and every other house is either a short sale or a foreclosure. Is the HOA still active or is the whole subdivision going down the tubes??? I have buyers interested in some of the listings in Verano but I don't know what to tell them about the community. Anyone know??

I've been told that investors purchased all the unsold homes and finished off what the original developer had not finished. There are a lot of empty homes in Verano. Not all of them have hit the market. The developers are putting them on slowly and I believe one is using Keller Williams to sell his houses and the other is using Caldwell Banker. At least that's what the signs would indicate. I was told that the HO Association is up and active and solid. They cannot open and maintain the clubhouse and pool until 90% of the houses are sold. I don't know how many are not sold but it's my understanding that 17 more are coming on the market June 29.

There seems to be more vacant land to be developed

I have that same question, I can't find any in formation on the website. I have an offer pending on an property, redfin shows there is a $160 HOA, I can't figure out what benefits I would get for $160. Does any one knows?
