Did anyone take Real Estate License Classes from Kaplan. Is Kaplan really good? Do I need other books also to pass the test or Kaplan is enough?

price, flexibility, quality of questions.
As the technology and laws are changing, one needs to learn the latest scope. Pass the test is the objective.

I took my original courses via Kaplan and would not recommend. I would use Champion.

The national portion of the curriculum was great. I was very disappointed with the Texas portion. The instructor talked about short sales and said they were something completely different than what they are. Made me question the rest of what she taught on the videos. Many of my emails asking questions went unanswered. Many mistakes and discrepancies in the printed material. Would not recommend this course because of the Texas portion of the curriculum.

I used Kaplan and passed the test first time without using any extra books other than the ones Kaplan provided. They do a good job covering all the topics.

I didn't take any from Kaplan, but the junior colleges in my area offer online Real Estate courses, so you can do the work at your own pace and get college credits.

Cindy is right, for California, I can't remember who I went through over 16yrs ago, but since then I've taken CE classes through Kaplan, Allied, The CE Shop, I like CE Shop.

Most recently for renewing my Nevada License (because I still do short sales in NV, mostly for California investors) I had to use a cross between CE Shop & Kaplan because of rules about taking "same courses" as used in the most previous licensing period.

I don't look back on this same Trulia posting for answers after mine.

I have taken courses at Kaplan, and yes, they prepare you for the text. You might also want to look at Allied...used them for my broker exam.

Kaplan is a GREAT source for all kinds of education.

You should be good to go with them!

I am taking the real estate on demand course now and I am extremely happy with the process. The online instructors that you will be watching as they discuss the material is similar to setting in a classroom anyway. I much rather enjoy this way of learning because you can pause and rewind and all that good stuff. Key to this being a success is simply having discipline to go through it on your own. good luck to anyone taking the test soon.
