Can the agents on Trulia put the city name in the location instead of the zip code?

Asked by Jed Lane, Petaluma, CA Tue May 20, 2008

Or explain why we should all use zip codes instead of the name of the area we are working in?

Hey Jed,

You are free to enter city or zip or neighborhood, depending on what makes the most sense for you. You can have up to 20 locations! Just go to your profile page and click on the edit personal info button.

hope it helps!

I think Jed's point is that Agents should use City names instead of Zip codes for their profile because city names are more recognizable than zip codes for both consumers and Realtors alike.

I tend to agree with Jed other than when there are cities with the same names but different locations / counties, then there should be some sort of identification to distinguish those.

I once answered a Saratoga contract question thinking it's CA contracts, but turns out to be FL questions - received a few TDs for an honest mistake :-)

I believe the zip code narrows down the area in the city. The ciy is a larger area and the zip narrows it down. Hope this helps.
