How long were you out of real estate? If it has been a considerable amount of time I would recommend interviewing brokers and looking more for the training and technology side of things and not so much commission splits.

I was initially with KW and they have great tools to HELP you brand yourself, they also had many weekly trainings to help better your knowledge. I'm now with Ziprealty and we also have many trainings throughout the week. I chose to move to Ziprealty as I was a new agent and didn't have a great SOI and the fact they provided leads was a bonus. Not only that but I love the technology. Being able to to see when my leads sign into the website or mobile app and see what houses they save or viewed and not have to pay extra for that service was a win win for me. This system works for me but it's is not for everyone.

Go with what works for you! Go to a broker that fits your needs. Everyone is probably going to be a little biased to which ever company they currently work for (myself included).

I agree with Larry, your success is related more to what you do than to the company you hang your license with. Certainly a name brand has its advantages. However, promoting YOUR brand is what helps you compete successfully against not only other agents on the street, but also against other agents in your office.

I'm going to give it to you straight. If you're getting back into Real Estate you need to stop focusing on the company other than focusing on how much their going to let you keep in your pocket and perhaps what technology they might offer that feel would be beneficial. As Reators we're in business for ourselves. The company where we hang our license is almost irrelevant unless you're looking for someone to train you and hold your hand for awhile.

You create your business, not the company,. You're responsible for your work ethic, not the company. Too many Realtors look to the company they work for to generate their business and this is why every year you see so many Realtors change companies assuming the grass is greener somewhere else rather than looking into the mirror and acknowledging that they are 100% in control of their business and income. Remember your company is primarily interested in their success and income and branding themselves. You should be primarily interested in your success, income and branding. Once you have this perspective you'll realize that the company your isn't nearly as significant as it was prior to the introduction of the Internet.

Best of luck and welcome back.

For rookies CB and KW have been perennial favorites.

For second evolution professionals, BH, and Exit.

For those who know real estate REMAX and Realty Executives.

Keller Williams. I have been with three others and interviewed with several more. Since joining Keller Williams I don't even look at other companies. They have the best training, wonderful support and the commission split is very good. Just my opinion, do yourself a favor and check them out.
