The agents have answered the question well. From a mortgage view if you are buying the home as owner occupied and you are 2 weeks from closing and the property was just rented out that would be less than great news. If the owner is using it as a weekend rental or something to that extent just until it closes that seems fair but if a new family moves in before right before you close and you are looking to move in in two weeks that would be a cause for concern. You should speak with your Realtor to find out the details of what is really going on. Did you just inherit tenants you will have to evict or will they be gone by close? ... more

TYPICALLY, if all the contingencies are removed and everything asked is completed, then you should be free and clear. Talk to your agent, see how things are going for you. That will give you a better of idea of what to do next. ... more
