I'd recommend Kaplans home study course. It is set so that you can take the classes on your own time and take each test to get the neccessary credits. You can't just take the tests for the class one after another though. There is a time span that has to pass between course tests. If you have more time than money you might want to look at City College. They have a great program that I did to get my sales license. I did Kaplans to get my Brokers license.
The thing I recommend is to get the Kaplan test practice course and start drilling on it. Getting an appraisal license is more time consuming in that you have to apprentice for a licensed appraiser for many, many hours.

Hi Tc and Aimee,

The green roof tiles are a really neat product but I just wanted to give a word of caution. Depending on your roof and climate region these could cause potential moisture problems in the future. I would recommend visiting with a local architect or maybe the local US Green Building Council about it prior to installing.

Without proper drainage the weight and moisture have been known to cause damage to homes.

I think its great that both of you are making such great efforts to having a more sustainable home. I would love to hear what both of you end up doing.

Oh, and I have heard GREAT things about Solar City. Would love to hear if either of you do that also. I would love to see them move over here to Houston!
