If you want your tile surround to meet the minimum code - it must be 70 inches above the shower drain. If your goal is great work and performance, then Anthony's answer is best. Plumbing fixture manufacturer's suggest the shower arm outlet at 60 inches. Better: Add the height of the tallest occupant and add 2 inches for an optimum shower arm outlet.
