First the simple answer - no you will not get any money back for inspections/appraisal etc, if the deal falls through. But you WILL get back any Escrow Deposit money. Sorry but that's the way it is. It's the cost of doing business.

Since they have not signed anything yes they can "back out". Your attorney (if you have one) can send them a "time is of the essence" letter. What does your agent/broker have to say. I'm sure that they claim to be a specialist in short sales - like all of them do. Or are you buying it direct?
