I want to find the lowest price I can buy that will give me the highest rent. Call a few property managers, ask them what areas seem to be the easiest to rent, then find the lowest price in that area!

If you are getting reduced rent to keep the house from being vandalized you should be OK. If you want to check on the home to know what the status is as far as a pending foreclosure here is a great site. www.RentalForeclosure.com It is easy to set up. Just so you don't get any surprises.

David Cooper answered:
Location, Location, Location means higher rents. Close to employment centers, close to freeway, good size yard for pets, are all getting my investment houses much higher rents. With gas prices at $4.00 a gallon, every mile further away from work and with traffic congestion will effect demand for rental housing

Losing your home is certainly a life changing experience and your hurt is justified. However, you signed a legal agreement to make the payments and Fannie Mae took the legal action to redeem their collateral when you didn't make the payments. Sorry, but that's the law.
