Hello Boxers,

You really should be talking to Real Estate Agent about these issues, along with your Loan, Title, and Escrow officers. They should be providing you with all the neccessary paperwork and information. YoOu can always check your county's assesor's page to check the record for the property and see who's name is on the record. IF it is your name, then you have been recorded as the owner, and should have the keys.

If none of these "professionals" provide you with adequate information, it would be time to talk to a Lawyer, specifically one who has a real estate background.

I noticed that you have a lot of great answers already. It is always a good option to get to know the areas, and certainly now is a good time to start looking at things online. I usually set my clients up so that they receive listing directly from the MLS that meet their criteria. I've worked with a lot of out of state clients and one of the challenges they often have is listening to well meaning friends that think there is only one or two places in Las Vegas to live. Las Vegas has some wonderful master planned communities in many locations. You didn't mention if you are retired or you are transferring to a job here. If it is for a job, you naturally will want to look at travel time. If you have children you may want to look at schools. I'm a great listener and would be happy to help you find what meets your needs. My website also includes some valuable information including links to the school district and crimeview. All of these will help you determine where you want to live. Is the lender you are talking with located here in Nevada. If not I would strongly suggest that you speak with a lender here. Additionally, I have several investors that have corporate condos that when you arrive could potentially supply lodging.
