Agreed, let your CPA answer but most people structure their "company" as a LLC for liability reasons, not as a tax shelter. Still, speak with CPA and maybe consider reviewing the beneifits of such with an attorney as well. ... more

Thanks, Stephanie. I am a cash buyer and it is amazing that the lower the square footage, the higher the cost per square foot. I am looking for small and cozy so the Park Villas suit me. In particular, the smaller ones! I made an offer last week and ultimately, we failed to reach an agreement. I was at $348sf for a 2654 sq ft Villa. I just can't see paying more in todays market. I'm assuming you checked the zoning / deed restrictions when you purchased the property? In addition to determining whether horses are allowed (which I have to believe you did already), municipalities have different limitations for the number of horses, facilities, etc. Is it city land versus a county island? What lot coverage is permitted? Setbacks? Too many questions about the parcel itself to be answered by a proper use for it can be determined. ... more
