Dear, Connie! I understand you that renting for a long period sometimes is tough and seems to be overcomplicated. But, I would like to calm, that now you can find your rental property even without meeting with your landlord face to face. You will ask HOW? And I will answer Online.
Competition between different online rental services has created a very modern high-quality rental product, that allows to you search, contact, sign lease and pay rent online. Even your landlord will screen your credit check online. So you can live in Philly and prepare everything for moving to LA f.e. You will meet your landlord only when you will get your keys. So I would like to recommend you to use brand new rental services because of its modernness and time-saving technologies. Link in the reference

It's true that lenders really can't give you a guarantee on a rate until you have a property under contract and you "lock" that rate. Many lenders like to dangle low rates in front of buyers just to get them in the door, then low and behold...the rate goes up when you're under contract. I would ask your REALTOR who he/she recommends. Keep in mind it's not all about the rate. You also want to look at their closing costs, customer service, etc. The guy with the lower rate, might be charging you a 2% origination fee. Or they may be really difficult to work with and not be able to close a loan on time. Is the lender local? Do they do all of their underwriting in house? Ask your agent for a recommendation. Here in CO we are in a hot seller's market. When competing with multiple offers, sellers (and their listing agents) are looking at the lender to make sure they have a good reputation and the buyer's agent has had good experiences with them in the past. ... more

Mimi... John's correct. Condominiums are 'apartments' with more formal rules and regulations. Conducting any business that would require people coming/going, especially on a daily basis, is not likely. I suggest you consult a Realtor experienced with Commercial properties who will help you find a home already suited for your endeavor. ... more

Peterson Park has been flat in sales, but there are always buyers for a myriad of reasons looking in Peterson Park and West Rogers Park. Correct pricing and homes that have been updated for the year 2008 lifestyles seem to be moving, while homes with inflexible pricing and in need of repair have market times of 180 days and above. ... more
