Auto loans can be tricky in a repo situation. I have lenders who will call credit agency. The problem is no one is paying them and your name and credit was on the car at one time. But sometimes it needs to be esclated to an attorney or judge who can enforce the divorce ruling in some cases.

Please feel free to call and I can give you some names that may help you.

Yes. The account should report the DLA (date of last activity) charge offs are normally 6 months after the last payment was made. It sounds like you need some credit help. Many collection agencies try to re-age the debt to keep it on a consumers credit report longer. This is a violation of the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act). You can actually sue a collection agency if you have proof of the variation of DLA. I am in the business of dealing with issues just like yours.

You can get a snap shot of your credit score(s) for free by visiting creditkarma.com (this will give you your Trans Union score) and Privacyscore.com (it is believed that this may be your Experian score). Best of luck. Christina of Everlasting Credit Repair. ... more
