Flooring can be tricky especially when wood flooring is involved....transitioning wood to carpet, tile to carpet, tile to wood etc. is more appealing that wood to wood, especially if the woods are different types and in a close proximity to one another.

There's nothing wrong about going with wood and wood but care should be taken that they are complementary and not competing. Don't let your choice of flooring be a deterrant to potential buyers.
