You can go to the Sauk County Court house and the ladies at the Treasurers office can help you out. Most of the properties that are available are lots on Dutch Hollow Lake. If you are going to buy one for your own enjoyment you will find a deal . If you are thinking it as an investment " Stay Away" It is a beautiful lake but the association fee will kick you in the pocket book and they charge that fee per lot. ... more

I just moved out of a 'suburb' of Madison, Wisconsin after living there 18 loooong months. I would definitely recommend doing your research and possibly taking a couple trips there if you're able and avoid small towns- my mom, my boyfriend and I all found it impossible to make friends even though we're very outgoing and easy to get along with. My mom's still there but is also looking to sell her home and move. It's beautiful in the summertime but the winters [especially if you move to a small town] are dreadful. If you're looking for a place to raise a family, WI might be for you but if you enjoy being active and having things to DO, I would warn against it. ... more
