I'm sorry you had all this happen. There are ways to rent and even though renting can be harder than getting into a house, it's quite possible. Contact me if you're still interested in something. I have wonderful lenders that will help you get into a place, once you've established yourself in town and can start to repair your credit.

Best of luck!

Welcome to Ann Arbor! Check out our condo rental listing at 2321 Pittsfield Blvd. It is a 2BR/1BA in a charming neighborhood full of families and young professionals, at a very reasonable rent.
It is an 8-minute drive to campus and 2 blocks from the #4 bus stop.

Hi Katie,

Sorry for the late entry- I don't know if you found a place to rent- but for you and many others looking for very short term rentals outside of extended stay hotels- many larger apartment complexes have furnished short term apartments they rent out. I have a client who lived at the Valley Ranch apt. complex while looking for a home to rent long term-- and was happy there.
I hope you found your place- and that this helps anyone else looking for a short term rental.

Haig Istamboulian answered:

It is a bit too early to be searching for a rental property for next April. What you should do is start working with a Realtor now and have them set you up on an automated search that will email you updates of different properties so you can review and monitor what is out there.

Then once you get closer to April 2014, you can begin seriously viewing properties that may work, in person. Also, ask the Realtor you work with if they can set you up on reverse prospecting so if any landlords or agents are out there that know of something that may work, they will contact you.

I hope this helps and Good Luck!

I would expect that the overall Burns Park market for single family homes will stay steady,if not grow stronger in the future. The overall rental market in the campus area has been hit by the newer mid/high rise apartments, but the Burns Park rentals (non student housing)will remain strong.

Hello, I assume you have a student that you want to have live here, this makes a lot of sense and can be a great investment. My advice is to by as close to campus as possible. Also, be sure to have a thorough home inspection done to be sure you are not going to be facing big repair bills such as bad foundations etc. Make sure you understand the City of Ann Arbor leasing requirements and city requirements for rental housing. I there are rooms in the basement, make sure they are up to city code too. ... more
