I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience before, as a Realtor I am glad to know that my clients got educated about the real estate market with websites like this before even contact a realtor to work with. We are living and doing business in the Internet era and that is a major invention that make our job easier for our clients because it gives them a lot of information and as a Realtor we are here to answer all your real estate questions and regarding your question I will list some reasons for what you would need a Realtor to sell your home:

-We will market your home in the MLS, the major website for homes inventory.
-We will priced your home to sell, not just give you estimations but give you an actual price to sell.
-We are going to make sure that your property will be advertised in major websites, local newspaper, real estate brokerage, neighbors, etc. You will probably see your home everywhere the next day you sign the listing agreement.
-Printing materials is one of many marketing techniques we use.
-We are going to have records for everyone who enters in your home and you won't need to be present every time an agent calls you to show your home and won't even need to worry about security issues.
-In my case I will be at escrow with you at the time of signing sales paper for any question you may have.

The list continues on, and remember we are here for a reason, this is a profession and you would need a professional to sell your home and the fact that the internet exist makes us an essential tool at the time to buy or sell a home.

Make sure to interview your next Realtor and if you go FSBO I wish you the best of luck.
