Peanut,
I think Michael Weaver below is right. You should never have to sign up, register or pay to obtain information ..EXCEPT! If you thought a home was just foreclosed on and wanted to find out you can check to see if it was listed in the Sheriff sale. (Note Sheriff sale is not consumer friendly if you need to finance to buy.. only Cash sales there.) The Sheriff sale of a property is what the bank initiates to try and recop what is owed to sell the home at the actual sheriff sale (Auction) but if it does not sell then the bank receives the property deeded back to them with a Sheriff Deed. That is when the bank actually owns the property again to sell it. In Marion County the sheriff sale lists cost $4.00 for a brief description list and $14.00 for a full info list. The sales are once a month. (any Where from 300-700 properties for sale each month) Once the bank receives the home back they list it with a Realtor. www.civicnet.net for Marion County listings. Hancock County does NOT charge for their listings, www.hancockingov.org/sheriff ..try these and see if you find the property. Good luck. Sometimes just google a simple version of the address and you would be surprised what shows up. ... more
