Kell & Chris here is a link to a calculator that may help you determine. Remember that this is done using current rates and you need to guess which energy cost is going to rise faster.

This will also help with seeing what other energy saving things may have an impact on you utility bill. Also yes you do have a seperate electric bill you have to run lights and a refrigerator in addition to other things.
