Dustin, I have a property that is currently be rehabbed and will be ready May 1st, 2013. It will rent for the first year at $975/month and come with Frig, Microwave, Dishwasher and Oven. It's located in West Knoxville close to shopping, interstate, etc...If you are interested, give a call at 858-848-5466. Take care!
I agree with Jim's Crystal Ball comment. Historically, corporate relocations occured during summer to allow for the family move, but since the recession relos occur if and when the employer decides or there is a job change necessitating a move. Interest rates are another factor for 2013.
NAR is a wonderful resource for information, as is the Federal Reserve and Washington Post but all they can report is past events. Also these are usually national averages meaning the hard-hit Las Vegas, San Francisco and FL markets are skewing the stats. Look at your local numbers for the best, most accurate information so you can form realistic expectations... more
You are receiving great information. As far as your timing, is your house READY to go on the market NOW?
The market in Knoxville is active and relatively strong-a few weeks or even months won't make a huge difference unless interest rates jump up which will negatively impact the home market. A home that is priced to its condition will sell. Have you previewed your competition and looked at your home objectively, such as is the paint neutral and in good condition inside and out, flooring, appliances, clutter? This is an overview, of course, but sell your home on your time frame. Nobody enjoys having their life disturbed for showings and constant pageant-cleaning.
If you and your home are ready, then go!
HOW TO UPLOAD PICTURES AND UPDATE YOUR PROPERTY:
Turns out "YOU CAN'T"...unless you pay for it
OR you have a realtor who is paying
OR Trulia can block the property cause they can't/won't
upgrade from the current picture of a dead tree...... more
I guess I would have to ask a couple of questions...Are you talking about a particular property or just an average of what they go for?
If you want to know about a particular property and what it sold for you can go to www.kgis.org and look it up there if it is in Knoxville. If it is in Blount County you can check http://www.assessment.state.tn.us/SelectCounty.asp?map=true&SelectCounty=005 .
If you are looking for some kind of average then you might want to check with your friendly neighborhood real estate agent to see if they can help you.
Hope this helps.
