First question, if you like the home, would you be in a position to purchase the property yourself? If not, you still have rights under Florida law. Cathy's advice to contact an attorney is solid. Also, there are several legitimate "free" legal sites and phone hot lines available to you. Just google the terms and you will find them, they can better assist you as Realtors' are not allowed to give legal advice. Let me know if I can help!

Joyce, what I tell my clients is to check with Progress Energy directly on the residence they are considering--you can go right online to progress-energy.com and get the past year's history on any address, or call:
Phone customer service
(727) 443-2641 - Pinellas
(407) 629-1010 - Orlando
(800) 700-8744 - Other

Cardinal Trail is right across the street from my home, and I can tell you that prices will vary depending on square footage and insulation, along with your personal conservation habits! My bills this winter have more than doubled from last year--I used to pay less than $100/M during the winter months, but my last two bills were over $200, and I'm heating less than 2000 sq ft.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you decide to become a neighbor!
